Founded as Valley Community Hospital in 1975, Valley Regional Medical Center has been dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care for more than 45 years. Valley Regional Medical Center is a full-service, 214-bed acute-care hospital equipped with a Level III Trauma Center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), designated as a Level II Specialty Care Maternal facility, and certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. We’re also the only accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI in Cameron County, home to the only accredited Cardiac Cath Lab with PCI in Brownsville, and the only Breast Imaging Center of Excellence south of San Antonio. We offer a wide range of comprehensive services including heart and vascular surgery, neurological care, orthopedic care, weight loss surgery and women’s and children’s care.

HCA Healthcare Nurse Residency Program

To help new graduate nurses gain the experience needed to begin work in specialty areas, HCA Gulf Coast Division has a Nurse Residency Program. This program focuses on Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care Nursing, Women’s Services, ER, OR, Cath Lab and Behavioral Health.
