Valley Regional Medical Center provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging and radiology services using the latest technology to help physicians better understand your body and provide a path to treatment and recovery. Our imaging center is located on the hospital's first floor, directly behind the main reception area.
Brownsville imaging services
Emergency and inpatient imaging services are available 24/7. For outpatient testing, our imaging center is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Saturday hours are available for obstetrics and CAT scans only from 8:00am to noon.
We are accredited by the American College of Radiology in breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), breast ultrasound, computer tomography (CT), mammography, nuclear medicine, stereotactic breast biopsy, and vascular ultrasound. Additionally, we are the only facility in the Rio Grande Valley to offer microwave ablation, a minimally invasive treatment that uses a CT scan and microwave energy to treat various types of kidney, liver and lung cancer.

Endoscopy services
We offer advanced endoscopy services to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions. This includes colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound, and gastroscopy.
We also offer bronchoscopy and bronchial thermoplasty to diagnose and treat asthma-related breathing issues. Additionally, our specialists perform 3D-guided endoscopic sinus procedures to treat chronic sinus infections. Our 3D navigation system decreases the procedure time, meaning less time spent under general anesthesia and a quicker recovery time for patients.
Interventional radiology
Our comprehensive services include catheterization and electrophysiology labs, which allow our specialists to rapidly diagnose and treat conditions such as heart attacks and heart disease and repair damaged blood vessels. Additionally, we are the only facility in the Rio Grande Valley to offer fractional flow reserve CT, an interventional heart imaging test performed to identify blocked arteries.
If you've already scheduled your imaging test, you can pre-register online using your MyHealthONE account to reduce the wait time once you arrive. Whenever possible, pre-register at least 48 hours in advance to allow time for your insurance to be contacted for any pre-authorizations they require.
