Valley Regional Medical Center hosted its annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Graduate Reunion on Saturday, April 19, 2025. This special event celebrates the achievements of NICU graduates and their families, providing a heartfelt opportunity for families to reconnect with the neonatologists, nurses and other caregivers who played a critical role in their NICU journey.

The reunion brought together families from various backgrounds and graduates of all ages, each with their unique story of resilience and hope. Attendees enjoyed a morning filled with animal interactions, a guided tour of the zoo, a chance to reconnect with beloved hospital doctors and colleagues and the opportunity to share their experiences with other NICU families.

“The NICU reunion is such a heartfelt and amazing event,” said Dr. Melissa Tilley, neonatologist at Valley Regional Medical Center. “We are so grateful for the parents who took time to bring their beautiful children to this celebration. The chance to reconnect with families who trusted us with the care of their tiny, critical babies is priceless. We love to see how much they’ve grown and how well they are doing since leaving our NICU.”

The NICU Graduate Reunion not only serves as a celebration but also as a reminder of the ongoing support available to families navigating the challenges of premature birth and other medical conditions. Valley Regional Medical Center remains committed to fostering connections and providing resources for families long after their NICU stay.

"We are thrilled to see so many families come together to celebrate their milestones," said Joe Hernandez, chief executive officer of Valley Regional Medical Center. "This reunion is a testament to the strength of our NICU graduates and the dedication of our neonatologists and colleagues who work tirelessly to provide exceptional care."
