Valley Regional Medical Center is specially designated as an Advanced Level III Trauma Center. Located in Brownsville, TX, we maintain an expert staff of trauma surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and neurosurgeons on-call and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We hope you’ll never have need of our emergency room (ER) or trauma services, but if you do, our expert trauma and ER doctors, nurses, and specialists are ready to evaluate and treat you with the care and attention you deserve. To make sure you get through your emergency as quickly and easily as possible, our trauma center is located in our ER and uses a specialized triage system to reduce wait times.

ER vs. Trauma Center

Although they are in the same physical area of the hospital, the trauma and ER areas are separately staffed, allowing for a prompt assessment and rapid response to all kinds of emergencies. Don’t worry, our staff will decide whether your situation should be treated in the ER or the trauma center and will make sure you receive the best, most appropriate care no matter what kind of medical emergency you’re having.
